The trends book opens with an INTRODUCTION OF THE NEXT YEARS MACRO TRENDS. The issue called GREEN VISION is a new way of life, imbuing a strong sense of responsibility, ethical behaviour and serious thought that are urging the values of unbridled consumerism toward simple, genuine things. This trend increases the interest in epic poetry, in social life and in new simple, minimal and austere forms of luxury. The introduction is followed by the section called PANORAMA, which develops in three areas: Jewellery, Diamonds and Watches. The FORECAST is made of four themes: 1- MYTHOLOGY IN PROGRESS As a reaction of a generation growing up in digital era, consumers are in need of new archetypes and values, looking at ancient myths, civilizations, tribal cultures, full of symbolic elements. 2- AUSTERITY D-LUXE Throw-away fashion has lost its fascination, replaced by a desire of responsible consumption. The social culture comes back. New luxury has no regrets, it's made of simple and true objects. It is expression of a new life philosophy and of a new aesthetic. 3 - GREEN VISIONS Simple and joyful life, surrounding itself by poor and hand-made objects, not industrial, but linked to local cultures. There is a coming back to family values, life spent at home, rough materials; a coming back to roots, nature and childhood. 4- BLUR-REALITY Between real and virtual there’s a world made of surreal combinations. A web culture, retro-oriented reactions, theatrical atmospheres. An iper-real aesthetic, fed by the web, is influenced by 20’s and 30’s fashion: human-shaped animals, macro dimensions, oriental wave, dragons and birds coming from the wonderland. The TREND BOOK TJF ends with a colour palette for 2009: new chromatics and new stones.
